I'd have thought that since it has already been stated that for the purpose of this tournament a team can comprise of a mix of members of squads as long as they only play on the one team, it'll also follow that if a squad is strong enough to field 2 or even 3 teams then the same will apply................ the members only play for the team that they have registered on. It won't matter that there are 2 or 3 teams from the same squad as for the purpose of this tournament they will we competing against each other.

I think that Phae and Ninjaman will confirm that.

Dear Staff,

The rulles say nothing about eddeting the game.cfg, what tweaks are allowed an which not?

Cheers,

Teams in this competition are independent of any "outside" squad affiliations, Official Nova Squads or otherwise. If your squad can field 3 teams with 3 separate rosters than by all means enter 3 teams - the more the merrier.

Just remember that each individual can only play for 1 team across the whole tournament, there can be no swapping back and forwards and they can not join a second team if their first team is knocked out, whether they have actually played a match or not. If you are on a team roster and it is knocked out, that ends your tournament.

Exactly what "tweaks" were you thinking of?

Crosshair appearance and crosshair colour changes are allowed as these are accepted in Nova Stat Server play by Nova.

DO NOT amend or add in anything else, even "harmless" mods like the Spinmap Compass Headings "mod" that could be used in DFX may be seen as unauthorised amendments to the game.

Ok, so edditing the graphics and colors of hud and crosshair are allowed, great!

I do not add lines of code for such mods, only changing the existing lines because you can't change them in gameplay (or somes you need to change every map such as HUD color).

Cheers.

Well since this is a questions thread I had one I was curious about. It says here:

2. Bandwidth Managers: The use of bandwidth managers is strictly prohibited. Novaworld considers using a bandwidth manager to lag yourself or the server a glitch. If players are found to be using a bandwidth manager in tournament play then this will result in a ban from the Orbsecurity.com tournaments for life and the player’s team will forfeit the match

so my question is, how do you detect that someone is using that? I have had some suspicions about a few players using something like that, so how do you plan on knowing if they are doing it? you don't have to go into specifics about how it's done! I don't know, and I don't want to know, and I really don't want the entire nova community to know either. What I want to know is how it will be detected and how you will prove it?

YWK/SS will be able to field 8 or more....

*DEA for example just have 11 active players in DFX2. We always can get 6 players, but a 8on8 is really hard for us. So it's nice to see, that we going to play 6on6+. If we get more than 6 players for a match, we will play with more of course :)

11 active is more then 8, so it should be easy ti field 8.

6vs6 is played on call of duty sized maps.

Sure we could field 8 players once a week for a tournament, but can all those other teams? Doubt it. Anyway you don't know how active our team is, Ripper is correct, for us it's hard to get 8 sign ups.

I don't understand why everyone here fails to understand why this tournament is set on 6v6. And wasn't it an sts member who claimed on Novaworld forums how 'great' 5v5's are?

Just don't get us wrong TL, *DEA prefers 8v8 above anything else. It's just that we understand that 6v6 will bring more teams in this tournament, and we're not a team that's going to merge with another team if we have 10+ players. I'm suprised that several teams out here have merged while they do have more active players then our team has. That's just sad.
